Winners announced for the Big Mobile on Campus Challenge

A team of students from Stanford University won 1st Place for their suite of enterprise applications, iStanford. With iStanford, students can use their iPhone to add/drop courses, plan schedules around a particular major/minor, view bills, search the school directory and campus map, and get up to the minute scores/news updates for varsity athletics. The iStanford application is the first native set of enterprise applications designed specifically for Stanford students.

Second Place winners were from University of North Carolina Wilmington with Dub Hunt. The Dub Hunt application is a scavenger-hunt game via text messaging that was developed to help foster a greater sense of campus community.

Third Place winners were from University of California, Berekeley with mReplay Mobi. The mReplay Mobi application allows users to interact with a Slingbox, live TV or other video stream from a mobile device.

University of Texas at San Antonio took fourth place with their application PRENOTIS. PRENOTIS is an easy-to-use, fast acting emergency and natural calamity reporting application. Its advantages are that it has a client application that can be deployed on a majority of hand-held devices, has image and text messaging capabilities and a web-based server-side for instant retrieval of information along with date and time. It only requires a few seconds to post selections, image and text onto the server. This data can be retrieved through a secure website.
