Platforms & Operating Systems
AT&T supports many operating systems and platform technologies for the wide range of
devices and applications on the AT&T's wireless network. AT&T subscribers can take
advantage of the many options these platforms provide to find the right tools for their
wireless needs.
With approximately 65 percent of AT&T customers on mid-range devices (also known as Quick
Messaging Devices, or QMDs), AT&T is commercializating the Brew Mobile Platform to increase
focus on a segment that has traditionally been underserved by appealing and accessible
applications. Brew is AT&T's platform of choice for the mid-range market as it directly
address the issue of device fragmentation.
AT&T is challenging mobile developers to get to know Brew MP and use this powerful platform
to create the next generation of innovative applications for AT&T customers.
For a guide that summarizes the application development environments and associated tools, libraries and technologies, see Mobile Application Development Quick Start Guide.
